Our founder, president, and executive director, Dr. Fernando Isart, has been a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics since 1990. He graduated in 1984 from UACA Medical School in San José, Costa Rica, and then completed three years of pediatric-specialty training at the State University of New York in Brooklyn. He followed that with a two-year fellowship in pediatric ambulatory care with Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York.

Also, Dr. Isart served two years as an assistant professor of general pediatrics at the University of Florida in Gainesville, and, during the summer of 1992, served Native Americans at Gallup Medical Center in New Mexico. In 1993, Dr. Isart held a teaching appointment at the University of Texas School of Medicine in Houston. He has been serving our community in private practice since 1992.

In 2000-2001, Dr. Isart was chief of pediatrics at Memorial Hermann Hospital NorthWest, where he participated in several hospital committees. His background also includes more than a decade as a volunteer at the Saint Cecilia catholic pediatric clinic.

In addition to his other duties, Dr. Isart is currently a clinical assistant professor at Baylor College of Medicine.
